Comfort

Seven year old Joey Holt didn’t know what was happening to his body. I don’t know if he felt fear or pain.

As his mother rushed him to the hospital his heart rate dropped from 15o beats per minute to only 50.  In the car his last words were “I love you mama.  Hold my hand.”  And then he died.

In his final moments the only thing Joey wished for was his mother’s touch.

I know my own emotions have been especially close to the surface lately, but this story touches me on some level I didn’t even know I had.

Whatever happens, let’s be good to our children.  All of them the world over.
